So after 3 years of the universe kinda punching me, I have to say I got a bit in the habit of expecting things to go wrong or not work out, sometimes its just easier to be cynical than to be optimistic- expect the bad and when it happens it doesnt hurt as much. Today when I put my phone in the wash I thought- oh well- just the usual, and trudged to Fido expecting to shell out hundreds for a new phone. But then ....something good happened! Fido apparently is weeding out its 3 year contracts, and I was a long time customer still on this plan, and this made me eligible for this promotion that waived my early upgrade fee and gave me a free new phone (its not a 6, a 5s- but I could care less) . So the lesson to myself is to be more observant to these good things- they do happen, and maybe I shouldnt expect them but I should expect that they are possible. Thanks universe, made my day (gives the universe a gentle fist nudge on the chin)
