So everyone at the good offices of the Chronicle is feeling appy this week. The launch of our App,delivering your favourite local weekly newspaper to tablets and smartphones up and down the country and across the world has been well received. Not only are ex pats keen to keep abreast of news from their hometown, but many who still live in this fine part of the world seem to prefer their news delivered electronically. No annoying pop up ads, no confusing navigation to find the story you were looking for, just well edited, quality news, delivered in a format you are familiar with. It seems growth is in the air, with the YMCA announcing a massive regeneration and expansion of itsPeak Parkway site, the RNLI revealing its plans for a new and very modern lifeboat station and ABP installed their new 72 tonne lock gates to allow the port to operate around the clock. Even those facing less constructive news are fighting back, with the Central Hall insisting its not over until a particular lady sings and reminding everyone they are still taking bookings into spring 2015. The Auditorium too is undergoing some changes as it is taken over by the not for profit company Lincs Inspire. The profile this week gives a very interesting insight into the life and times of one of our most respected senior consultants at Diana Princess of Wales Hospital. A man who not only helped to save hundreds of lives, but was the founder and driving force behind the Bottoms Up campaign, raising hundreds of thousands of pounds for the hospitals continued fight against cancer.
