So far so good on Gov Obiano APGA continuity 100 days down the line but .......... Aguata areas appear to have been left out on the second phase of agricultural development master plan of the state. The Govt appeared to be silent on the major produce of Umuchu, Nkpologwu, Uga, Achina, Amesi, Umuomaku, Enugu-umuonyia. For completeness oil palm is the major produce of these areas. There are so many oil palm plantations and cottage oil palm refineries in that part of the state. Back in the days and on even date we supply palm oil produce in commercial quantity to all major commercial cities in Nigeria and abroad. Palm oil productionand processing remains a major occupation within south southern zone of Anambra and extends to Imo state communities like Aro Ndi Izuogu, Akokwa, Umualaoma etc. Many Nigerians must at very least remember Late Chief L N Obioha (Okpuru isi zuru oha onu na Aro Ndi Izuogu. Late High Chief was not a politician or a contractor. He own the first purely mechanized oil palm refinery in the area. His exploits in palm production and processing benefited the economies of the whole of Old Aguata, Ideato, Okigwe and Orlu. I am expecting Obiano not to emphasis on rice production only. I expect him to embark on second phase of rural/agricutual programmes by opening up more rural roads to boast agriculture in these communities mentioned above. I am expecting Obiano to construct roads linking all the communities mentioned above. I expecting my able Gov and Igbo leader to procure and distribute latest high yielding palm seedlings. I maintain that development of capital city must be gradual process and not revolutionary process as beautiful city is no answer to the major problem confronting Igboland and indeed Nigerians. I hope HE advisers are taking notes.
