So, here is the latest on my mom. They continue to give her IV fluids and antibiotics. Her numbers are all normal except her WBC which is so close to back to normal. Tomorrow she has to get a tube put into her back that goes into her left kidney to drain it. It is currently twice the size of the right. They will keep her at least tomorrow night and monitor for increasing infection. She will go home on antibiotics and with the nephrostomy tube until her left kidney has recovered. Then the plan will be for her to return to SLU for the kidney stone removal. She is feeling great and her headache has been gone since Saturday!! It is still unbelievable that through all of this she has never had any flank or abdominal pain...she is my supermom!!!! Thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers!!! Please keep them coming bc she isnt completely out of the woods yet. The fear is that if they stop IV antibiotics that her counts will quickly go down the tubes again and this infection will again take over!
