So it looks like I may have gotten my first house! I went into my realtors office to make counter offer of $215k. After I left I had just pulled into gas station in La Grande about an hour later and she called me. Evidently when she went to call the realtor of the cabin owner he stated that he had just received an initial offer on the same house from another person. She called me right away and told me that it might be possible I might lose the bid on the house if I insisted on the extra $5k come down in price and wanted to know if I wanted to go for the $5k or just accept the original counter offer of $220k. I told her that I would go with the original counter offer of $220k. So unless the house inspector comes up with a deal breaking surprise it looks like I may just be getting my first house!
