So it seems that the big song that I kept singing was the Exaltation to the Ancestors, which is a song from the Exaltation of Larks Rent Asunder that is taken from a cultural Skydancer song, and has been passed down from our earliest time. It traces the four generations since the ship first took flight telling the stories of the founder of the family and the four navigators who served the Exaltation: The Shipwright & Sandpiper Bilal The Wheeler Breaker of Bonds Almyra (only died this year, so is pretty much present day) What I want everyone else to do is to add in their founders and navigators. That might only be a few, but if we can merge them all into a chronological timeline then the song will get bigger and louder and more awesome when we perform it and turn it into a wild sort of event. If anyone wants help, then I am only to happy to, or we can all work on it together below. Included here are the lyrics from our original first pass, and a link to the song Valiant Turpin by Blackbeards Tea Party where we shamelessly filched the tune from. This dancer wanted to be free, To spread her wings for all to see. She wrought her ship and made it fly. And took her children to the sky. Oh rare Dancer hero, Oh rare Dancer ho. Oh Ancestors hear us I am the Valiant Dancer. Sandpiper stood beside his wife, To her he pledged to serve his life. He plotted out the course agreed. And signed them to the Dancers creed. The day his father slowed and died, Bilal knew he would be their guide. Out to Bolt and on, he swore, To fly further than they had before, The third was fraught with grief and woe, She sent three to the waves below. The Wheeler wrote a mournful song, And broke the bonds that made us strong. Almyra forged a fleet of three, And skimmed above the iron sea. She kept the dance a sacred thing, To give the ships their chance to sing. The Larks a path that can be traced, All through the mists and endless space. These are the souls that made us great, So raise your voice and exaltate. https://youtube/watch?v=cbA2_YatMLE&list=PL5HRsLqMo1eczRa1ZGHF2eJna0OqrOExB
