So....its been a crappy damp week this week and today was the worst day...:-( we think there must be an underground spring under the kennel block and the floors are continually soaked :-( it was terrible this am when Claire went in to feed them and she mopped them all out but then by dinner ...its back :-( hard work because as fast as we mop the wet up its coming back through and it seems to be getting worse with the warmer temps? Presuming its as the ground water is rising up and evaporating. Weve moved their raised beds to the out side part of the kennel and we now leave their latch up at night as its warming up. Because the floor has been damp their bedding is also getting damp from their feet on the damp floors but until today its been bare-able...today though i could have cried. :-( its been a hard work day for us all and if it hadnt been for Claire Elizabeth Muir and James Sydney and our Erin....i think id have had wet cheeks lol. Still we have to look fwd and be grateful that they are safe...tomo is another day and hopefully our floors will dry out if theres no more rainfall... All dogs enjoyed zoomies around the lovely field and played happily. Anna is blowing her coat and i pluck at every available opportunity and the field looked like someone had molested a sheep! Shes cheeky and v playful and gawgus... if i didnt have so many id take her home because she needs a pack. Gizmo gives kisses to die for :-) and is relaxing more each day. Ruby is just perfect ;-) happy lil lamb x Aslan Mr aloof is playful and cocky ;-) barking and then wooooing when i remind him hes a husky and huskies wooooo not yap! His mum to be cannot wait to take him home. Sookie continues to be spooked at all things and is a total stress head. Squeeks lots and pants :-\ shes only happy when in the company of us bless her. Maveric.... Hes going to take a while and may never want humans... Hes the worst bless his heart and he will bond with dogs happily but humans ???.... Piles of scum for what they have either done to him or...the total lack of stimulation they have given him. He needs tonnes of one on one and he doesnt want to trust...why should he ? Even after all this time and the daily routine of the same... He hates touch :( he flinches like its causing him pain and although i can get him to accept touch does he want it ? Hell no ! And for that i could cry because no matter what aproache i take i cant get him to let us in. He wants out for walks... So he accepts what needs to be done to achieve this... But he doesnt want it :-( in the field he will come for a sniff but solely on his terms and we have to abide by his rules... To do otherwise would be a total betrayal of trust..to hold him while making him have it,....nope.... Making him accept being stroked would be bullying and..basically proving what he thinks is right...humans are scummy bullies who dont deserve the right to touch him... and by god we will shift this thought and knock down those walls... .... If it takes a year then so be it but it will be on his terms because... As damaged as they are.. they are so much more majestic than us mere mortals ;-) they are....special. They are hope and light and special bless them xxxxxx
