So its like 5:30 in the morning but I had to wake up to get ready for the last day at Youmacon and artist alley and what not, then I checked my email and got quite the amazing message. So a while ago I posted about The Body Love Conference thats happening next year with such guests as Tess Munster-Plus Model and The Curvy Fashionista and Garner Style and just all of these people I love. I posted that I submitted to do a panel about cosplay, loving yourself, and all the things I usually talk about on my page. A friend told me about the conference and I thought Id give it a shot. It couldnt hurt, right? Besides, I want to do panels more often anyway, especially if Im a guest at a convention. Heres the email I saw this morning: WELL HELLO! I just spent a few hours being BLOWN AWAY by your talents, messages, and passions. THANK YOU for submitting to the Body Love Conference! It made my night, and maybe life. This is an email to say: YAY! Wed like to know more about you and your presentation! *** I MADE IT THROUGH STEP ONE OMFG!!! This is a HUGE deal to me, not only because I care so much about this message, and not only because its an opportunity to speak about it in such a high profile place full of amazing people Ive been following for a while, but honestly, this is pretty much everything I went to college for and something Ive been passionate about for a while. I majored in Creative Writing and Womens Studies, and while cosplay wasnt necessarily in my life plan of things I may very well be deeply involved in, its been working out that way and this whole journey has been incredible. So Im blown away to have made it through round one! The next step is to make a video for them that goes into what my presentation would be about and why its important. It doesnt have to be too fancy or anything, but Ill be coming up with ideas on the way home and just being absolutely stunned about making it to the next step. Wish me luck in round two! If I make it through that then Im in. And you can bet, for sure, that if I do make it Ill be giving that presentation in cosplay
