So, last night my husband and I went to a friends house for dinner. There was a gentleman there of 86 years of age, possessed of a sharp mind and wit. Really enjoyed talking with him! Our conversation came around to Atlanta ....ancestors....we start comparing notes.....find out he is also a descendant of the Walker family, a judge in his family and mine of the same name, his family owned land in Decatur, mine owned what is now Piedmont Park, family first name in common (my great grandfather, his grandfather and many other male relatives of the same name) and we end up figuring we are probably related. I start really looking at him and start seeing a resemblance to my mothers uncles! Now, I will be off to his house to see some photos at some point soon, and write some things down, and take it all to the history center research building and expand my ancestral digging. Wow. Pretty freaky.....isnt life just unexpectedly interesting?!
