So looks like birch/hazelnut are a big factor for Joey,however does not eat any type of nut. Never liked them and will never try them. The reaction he had a month ago and in the past may be due to something called Angiodema. A reaction in your immune system caused by either an infection in your body or an allergic reaction to food. The past couple times this has happened to Joey he either had an infection (tooth) or was running a fever. So much to research and figure out. Next step is blood work to test deeper for the nut allergy. There are other types of Angiodema which can flare from medication such as ibuprofen! Angiodema is the rapid swelling of deep layers of skin the dermis,mucosa and submucosal tissues unlike hives Angiodema will affect deeper tissue under the skin. Although there are 4 different types The dr believes this reaction in Joey is coming from Infection only because the times it has happened he was sick. We are doing the blood work to try and eliminate one cause or another. Omg!!!
