So, many people know I was on vacation last week. It was our first vacation since 2011, when we took 3 days on Oahu. It was my first time back to the mainland since 2008, when I moved my mom out here, and the first time Mark has been back to the mainland since we moved here 10 years ago. Some impressions: I dont think I could live on the mainland anymore. OMG! The people! The traffic! The pace! A couple days in I realized I would need to start walking faster cause I was just in everyones way, shufflin along at my Maui pace. Too much noise, too much activity, just too much! Im countrified now, I guess. Also, has no one in Las Vegas heard of the clean indoor air act? The cigarette smoke was outrageous! Everywhere we went people were smoking. I didnt realize that many people still smoke. Just getting out of the hotel was an adventure everyday to avoid breathing until we were past the casino. And, almost all the gambling machines are just video games now! Yes, there were still blackjack tables and poker tables and roulette tables and all those kinds of games that people who know what theyre doing play. But for little ole non-gambling me, I just wanted to play some slots or video poker. But they were all pretty much just video consoles, which means they are VIDEO GAMES, and therefore will NEVER PAY OUT! I have plenty of video games at my house I can play for free all the time. Who do they think theyre kidding? Show me a million dollar payout on a video game, and Ill believe, but until then, no way! I guess it sounds like I didnt enjoy myself, but thats not true. I really enjoyed myself SOOOO much! We shopped and ate and saw a show and went to the Pinball Hall of Fame and some really cool malls, and hung out by the pool and just relaxed. That was so valuable and needed. I loved it. Next time, though, someplace quieter. :)
