So much for my drama-free bubble. After a fair amount of discussion, the boys and I have decided its time to say goodbye to the one and only dog weve ever had in our family. Duchess, a yellow lab we were given as a housewarming gift by Dawn at the Humane Society, has been a gift in so many ways. She has been there to meet the boys as they got off the bus from Challenger, eaten enough of their socks (and underwear) to stock a young mens clothing department, played with the boys friends, and done hundreds of things that fall under the category of TMI (Ill mention cat litter for one). She has given us so many wonderful memories over the years and will be missed so very, very much as of next Wednesday. So, the boys and I would appreciate any positive thoughts you could send our way in the coming week. Its gonna be a tough one, and I dont think theyll believe me at the vet if I tell them its the onion I forgot in my shirt pocket thats bringing the tears.
