So music, then. A lot of writers listen while they write. Some create a playlist or soundtrack that suits the mood of their project. Ive heard of authors who choose a single band to listen to during the writing of a novel, a sort of inspirational representative of their theme. Im finicky about my music. I cant have it on all the time, it becomes overstimulating, and if Im really in the zone I need the speakers quiet. Still, my favorite music takes me to that happy, inner place where life is full, anything is possible. Like good writing. Lately Ive really been diggin Needtobreathe, Ben Rector, and this guy, Mat Kearney. Have a listen! Who are your favorite musicians? Do you always have tunes on?
