So my 17 year old sister lives with me and has lived with me for a couple months now. Shes seen me go through a lot of changes. Ive completely changed who I was for the better, for her. And the most stressful part about all of this is not her constantly lying about things, never having money for anything, or constantly having to worry about whether my decisions will affect us in a way that I cant handle. The most stressful part would have to be that I constantly have people behind me telling me that Im too hard on her or that I should just let her do what she wants. Ive had people call me a hypocrite more times than I can count. What they dont understand is that I dont want my little sister to become me. I did way too much of what I wanted when I wanted. Ive been through a lot of things that most people dont know a thing about. I was just lucky enough to have the right people there to motivate me out of my bad habits and my horrible choices that I made. So yeah, Ill ground her when she has a bad Spanish grade. Ill call her a million and 4 times while shes gone at a sleep over. Ill give her responsibilities that she doesnt want but she needs to prepare her for her future. Ill take the necessary precautions when I catch her smoking her cigarette. And Ill call her out every time I THINK shes lying, because Id rather be wrong than her get away with something that could cause her life to be a little bit harder than its already gonna be.
