So my overnight guest from New Years, a guy Ive known for 18 months, decided that not only was he going to spend the night, but that he would make gumbo today and spend the night again... To make a decent size pot of gumbo that you see before you will run you between $150 and $200.... I couldnt figure if he was trying to cater to me or if he really wanted Gumbo today. So when I asked, he said to me: Im a 27 year old Black Man, A Honorably Discharged Marine, and my parents are still married. Fall Back and let me do this... For once I found myself speechless and compliant... If his goal was to leave an impression he succeeded in his mission... My house has lost their damn mind behind it. It is off the chain. So he may be a keeper.... Enjoy your new year....
