So one more year has come and passed. Im very happy to see the back of this year. Some things happened that arent worth writing about, my attempts at helping a friend start a business failed despite my best efforts due to outside forces. I began my job at Augustana, working with people both very skilled and completely off their respective rockers. Its grand. :) And I got my own side projects going just in the nick of time to pull me out of probably the worst wave of depression Ive had in years. Finally, the year took an upswing as Ive found my creativity once more. And then the year ended with the best possible final chapter, as my sister Asha and brother-in-law Larry flew my father and I out to Seattle for the last week before New Years Eve. They did this at no small expense and treated my father and I to an excellent week of touring Seattle, seeing many beautiful sights such as the Space Needle, the Dale Chihuly museum (check out the pics I got of the works displayed there, his work is truly astounding), and the Museum of Glass, plus several of the most phenomenal meals Ive had in my life. They were remarkably gracious and accommodating hosts and I cant thank them enough. And then last night, everyone who came out to the New Years party at Renwick mansion made it an occasion both fun and classy for the very enjoyable performances of each of the bands. A good time was had by all, as far as I can tell. So heres to saying goodbye to 2014, and ushering in the potential of the fresh year. Im going to ride this upswing as far and long as I can, and I have lots of ideas that should prove to make this a very productive and creative year. I hope you all had as good an ending to 2014 as could have been provided. I might even let my hair grow out again this year. Jurys out on keeping the beard.
