So there is the Whizdumb guy that doesnt know who I am, I am just a guy who has bought a few cocktails from him at Vermillion art walks / a show or two. I just found out that there is also a Wizdom in the 206 hip hop scene, I havent really paid attention to the spelling, I probably attributed all of the times I read the name to the former. The second guy, Wizdom, released a city anthem video two days ago that has 4,000 views, its titled My City is Filthy https://youtube/watch?v=EiFlHHAuKoc. The video starts with the dude that is probably my favorite rapper, talking about how Seattle is coalescing, if you didnt know I have given Prometheus Brown that status, it may still be Tupac, but I get to hear and grow with only one of those two artists. The song title is a Maklemore phrase, the video has shots of Ben Haggerty repeating that line, chauffeured in the back seat, whereas the MCs who actually deliver verses are driving themselves, which with Grynch, pulls on my heart strings, his Volvo riding between Ballard and downtown, is probably a specific love that you probably dont know anything about, but this right there is my where my interest stops. My City is Filthy, but this video/song didnt convince me. I know it to be filthy because of https://youtube/watch?v=kz4mrbx6xhA which only has half as many views as the one with Geo and Maklemore involved. I am completely befuddled by the number of views. I dont want to be instigating, I really dont. But visually, what Shaun Scott did here is comparatively amazing, Perry Porter is hungrier and wittier, and Spekulation gives an interesting sonic background, while Matt the MC delivers two distinctive feeling verses. Not to mention the journey Paolo brings us on. I have no flipping clue why one of these has 4K views after two days and the other has 2k after three months. How do we point out we are going wrong without knocking anothers work? My sincerest apologies Wizdom.
