So today has started out to be one of those days. A day that teaches us about true life lessons. Lessons like, its not about who wins or loses, its not even about the score. Its about facing every single day saying, I am going to do the best I can today. Today was Kyles first High School basketball game. When he was getting ready, he told me he was really nervous. I was also nervous. This was new territory for Kyle and I did not know what to expect. The game did not exactly go the way the kids and parents (including myself) would have wanted because we got beat by a lot and despite knowing its not about the score, its really disheartening to be in that situation. At the end of each half Kyle got his turn to play. When he went in at the end of the second half, he was passed the ball while down in the corner and he immediately shot...and made it!! The look on his face was priceless!! The cheer from the crowd was amazing!! And just moments later, while I was sitting there feeling very proud of Kyle and his teammates and his coaches, he dribbled the ball down the court and decided to cut inside and shoot...and it went in, AGAIN!! After the game, another mother (whom I dont actually know) came up to me and told me how heartwarming that was to watch Kyle score those 2 baskets. I truly love this small town that I am blessed to raise my kids in and I am truly blessed to be Kyles mom and get the opportunity to witness my son help other people learn life lessons.
