So what has Council decided to do with "The Purple House" site in Rye? Council Decision Moved: Cr. Fraser Seconded: Cr. Rodgers 1. That the building at 3 Lyons Street, Rye be demolished and the site cleared immediately. 2. That the area be immediately established, managed and maintained as a suitably furnished temporary ‘pocket garden’ for public use incorporating the existing plaques to universal suffrage and the provision of women’s support facilities on the site until a future decision of Council determines any alternative use. 3. That Council notes the recommendation in the report that there be an opportunity for Council to examine all options for this site in a considered and informed way. 4. That Council undertakes an expressions of interest for the future use of the site and a report, outlining the present, future, cultural and community space needs for Rye and outlining all the options for the site, be presented back for Council consideration. 5. That officers consider how residents of Rye may assist the Council in this project.
