Sod the match, what about the wage bill? (AW) Judging from reports today, it’s very clear that Taarapt was given a full 90 minutes against Burnley (despite obviously tiring in the second half when he should have been subbed) in order to prove his fitness to Inter Milan. As it happened, he played reasonably well - not surprising as he wants to impress his potential new club - but I just can’t accept the management playing someone who wants out, and who wouldn’t have been considered to play otherwise (no matter whether fans agree with that or not) in a crucial 6 pointer which we ended up losing. A match where Rs slumped back into the relegation zone and set an all time unwanted record of defeats. Come next Sunday morning, a certain Harold Redknapp may well be unemployed.
