#Somali love of rude nicknames? This is pretty funny. Would love any of my #Somali friends on here to chime in ... does this resonate? We love our nicknames in Naija ... sometimes honing in on distinct differences (sometimes rude as well), but mostly toward hyperbole and affectionate amusement. In secondary school (in Nigeria), we had Panicker, Lord K, Arabian, Ancient (receding hairline), and Paule (whose name wasnt Paul - and I still call him this...smh),Aboki *(hed gone to school in the north before coming back south), Young Chief (son of the Chief in the village where school was located), and many many more ... Hilarious... now that I think about it. ** Aboki I think is a common greeting in Northern Nigeria ...friend in Hausa language (I think). cc: Aboki Namma, Sowari, Alfred, Tola, Rogers, Ugochukwu, Ifeanyi
