Some conversations over the past couple of days have caused me to reflect. Here is a fact that my mind has been perusing: When I cast my first vote, from boot camp in November of 1988...my views and opinions were not controversial at all. I was just an every day, run of the mill, average conservative Republican. I was just one guy, standing in the middle of a very large ideological crowd. In the 26 years since then...I havent changed. I have grown. I am better educated than I was then. My arguments are far better honed. But where I stand, hasnt changed one bit. Meanwhile, my party has drifted so far to the left,that the few who have stood firm...now need labels. Without changing, I have somehow become an extremist, a purist, a tea bagger and in some Liberal circles...even a terrorist. LOL, without changing...I now pi_ _ people off in BOTH parties. LOL, whadda ya do? When the crowd is in the right place...I will be in the crowd. But when the crowd starts running off toward a cliff...I have no desire to be a member of the herd. I simply remind all of these people that back when they were over here with me...we won 49 states. That is all.
