Some day everything man has created, together with all life as we understand it, man included, will be destroyed, and the earth will be merely a glob of chemicals in an orbit around the star we have called the Sun. And perchance the Universe itself will cease to exist.There will be no intelligent life to consider this and understand how or why it all came to be, or whether it will ever happen again and where or whether it happened before at all. It will never be understood in our time if this was all because of a miracle of God or just because of a Big Bang and evolution. So let us enjoy life and our earth while we have them, and go on living and polluting and fighting wars and hurting and killing people and animals and destroying the environment and hope that it all does make some kind of sense. I like to think there is a reason for it all.
