Some good news for Gu td42t owners . If your still running the standard air cleaner body then read this . I tried to source the lid seal on the air filter housing today from Nissan , not available but you can buy the whole lid for $230.00 . Your probably saying what I said . So I went my local rubber supplier at FRI Maroochydore and found this 6 mm round section seal , cut off 700mm and the code is P489 . It cost only $1.25 . Cleaned out the old seal and cut and fitted the 6mm new seal and used a bit of sikaflex to join the two ends. Now considering most everyone on this group likes 4x4 driving and some are keen on deep water and snorkels are in vogue . Then for the cost of $1.25 or the possibility of thousands of dollars damage , just replace this seal so water cant leak in . Mine lasted nearly 300,000k on my GU , and Im guessing nearly everyone out there has a perished one as well . So if you have a stock air filter housing you should replace this now , its cheap insurance and you could save yourself thousands . I have include a pic of my lid and the seal before fitment ......
