Some left their exams, some left their jobs and businesses, some put their marriages on hold, some left continents to be a part of rehabilitation, some sold their iPhones, some collected aid, some volunteered to help in rescue, some volunteered as doctors, some spent sleeplessness broadcasting news on social media... Each Kashmiri around the world has pitched in to rescue a people and rebuild a country. I have never been so proud of my people as today. A 60 year old man rescued a family, teenagers dived into waters to save people from drowning, women refused to leave their houses until the neighbours were safe. But it is sad that it took a tragedy to reawaken a nation. We have shown the world that we are self reliant and we know how to run a nation without any help. International aid has been barred, rescues by Indian army has preferred non locals over Kashmiris. But we refuse to give up. This is all due to Almightys help and our hardwork. May Allah help us in rebuilding the nation and give peace to the martyrs of these floods. Proud to be a Kashmiri.
