Some lovely, kind words from our friend and talented writer Martina Collender who attended Mondays Open Mic at Central Arts... I honestly am struggling to relay what an absolutely fantastic night this was, a massive Congratulations to all of performers. From Singers to poets to reading of great short stories to comedians the night was jam packed with serious talent, I loved every single second of it. Every Act was outstanding, big Congratulations to Stephen Walsh for reading his wonderful words, which like all amazing writer can make you burst with laughter and then silence you in a beat later, Gerry Kane for just hilarious tune, Lorcan Reidy for singing two of his own songs one I know which is the most beautiful sounds you will ever here, and the second which I heard for the first time last night and was was beyond words for the emotion it caused. There was some amazing writers, actors and singers who I just heard last night and for the love of God can not remember there names! Massive, huge THANK YOU to the organisers of this, as it was said last night A lot of people are doing great things but they have no where to show it, well that stops now. Now there is somewhere This is brilliant for Waterford! It is brilliant that you go to one gig realise the talent that is here and you cant stop smiling! All of this happened for 2 euro. 2 euro entry! 2 EURO! I left there last night after seeing so many acts of so much talent that you are bursting with pride for Waterford, you are skipping that these people showed there talent, that I now know who there are because of something like this, this is platform for artist to do what they do; and its great. Do not miss the next one, I am certain there will be a cue out the door to get in. Sure theres never anything on in Waterford right? — feeling excited at Central Arts.
