Some memories of SECV from Tony Lord, I thought I would share them. Once upon a time .............................. The “world”, as I new it (SEC style) in January1968, when I started work – • I was appointed to a role in “Records & Despatch” and commenced in late January actually the job turned out to be in “Despatch”, on the Lower Ground Floor in Monash House The team was led by Eric Smith, with his 2IC, Jim McCutcheon (brother of Eric McCutcheon of VFL administration fame). The rest of the crew was – “Big Lance“ – Lance DeBlaquiere (apart from me, I think he was the only other person who could spell his name) Wayne Lord (no relative – his main claim to fame was to set fire to a red rattler train late one night on his way home, and, got caught!)
