Some observations on my parents retirement thus far: 1) They have a more active social calendar than I do. 2) My dad sleeps like a sleep-deprived teen. He wakes up at noon. Because thats what you can do when youre retired. 3) My mother allows my dad to go out on a boat, unsupervised, after dinner, without a life jacket on...to fish. This is not OK. 4) They tell me about every meal they eat. 5) They are besties with all of their new neighbors. 6) My dad owns a mifi and knows (sort of) how to use it. 7) They go to Lowes every single day. Literally. 8) They talk about their geese and ducks and turtle friends that visit them on the lake. They also tell me about their eating habits. 9) They leave their phones at home as they galavant around town and come home way after curfew. They forget to check in with their daughter. 10) Im just genuinely thankful they havent killed each other after their first full month of 24/7 interaction. If you dont believe in miracles.....I urge you to reconsider. The Muellers live to see another day! Cheers to many more gloriously boring, exciting, social, sleeping-in days to come! Love yall!
