Some of the pills I take are blood thinners, which means if I stub my toe or get a scratch I bleed like an elevator in the Overlook Hotel. Its annoying as hell but its not really that bad. A gauze pad, a little pressure, sometimes just a band-aid. So when I got ready for my shower and noticed that my foot and the flip-flop it was on was a little sticky it was no big deal, except that were out of gauze pads. Heck, I grumped, gosh, phooey--JESUS! look at that shit! It was piled up on the flip flop like icing on a cake. What now? I thought, hopping one-footed into the bathroom so the blood wouldnt spatter all over everything. Suppose it doesnt stop this time? For a minute there it was like being in a really bad horror movie. Blood is rusty seawater, I told myself and stuck my foot over the tub, pulled off the flip flop, and--wait a minute, I said, thats--I dont know what that is, but it sure as hell aint rusty sea water. No indeed, it was chocolate. Somewhere, somehow, I had managed to step on a piece of chocolate and mash it up between my toes and the flip flop. This was good, chocolates a lot easier to get rid of than blood, not to mention the stains. Tasty too.
