Some of the stories Im working on have topics that may very well trigger automated data-mining. Then theres all those dratted thought experiments I talk over with people, which, taken out of context, could probably be really alarming. So I do wonder if Ive already been flagged, just from e-mails and chats with people discussing things Ive thought about. At least I write SF&F. Imagine if I wrote military/spy-thrillers. I suspect its VERY hard for automated systems to differentiate between genuine discussions between scary people, and a writer and his agent chatting about his outline involving terrorist/extremist activities and bombs and stuff. Even if a human looks it over and decides youre NOT a real danger, you may very well get flagged repeatedly for the same stuff, which would, based on the 3 jump philosophy, mean that your friends and your friends friends stuff would also get flagged and searched. nytimes/2013/11/12/books/pen-american-center-survey-finds-caution-among-members.html?_r=0
