Some of you might remember Roocky the white Samoyed that was wandering in the streets and came into our care. Well he is now doing quite well. When we took him in his coat was very long and in a very bad condition and he smelled very badly. He was full of ticks and grass seeds stuck to his body and his ears had a chronic infection which affected his balance. His coat had to be fully shaved off. We thought originally that he was about 8 years old but now we reckon he is at least 12 years old. He is a grumpy old man but his life has probably been very bad so who can blame him. When we get home he tries to give a little jump or a little run but his legs won’t let him so he just waddles along to come and meet you. We feel that he is to old to fly to a new home and anyone that adopts him here or abroad would probably end up with a dog with ongoing illnesses due to his previous life and old age and we do not know for how long he will live, so we have made the decision that he will remain in our house with the rest of our senior dogs for the rest of his live.
