Some pics from an adventure on the north face of the Breithorn on the Gran Diedre - a really cool route put up by the legendary Italian alpinist Gian Carlo Grassi. A memorable day out with a bit of everything - steep ice, tricky mixed climbing and a corniced exit leading straight onto the summit of a 4000er - which really adds to the quality of the whole day. The place has a really wild and secluded feel, yet its less than an hour from the Rossi e Volante bivouac hut under the south face of Roccia Nera, which you can return to on the descent. Then youre only a couple of hours away from beers in Zermatt!
