Some quick-thinking witnesses snapped photos of a suspicious man leaving the scene of a break-in at Nailsworth yesterday, which directly led to his arrest by police. At about 1.30pm, an alarm at a Nailsworth residence was activated. Neighbours observed an unknown man leaving the premises in a vehicle and took several photos using their mobile phones. Police attended and viewed the photos and were able to identify the suspect, and the vehicle, which had been stolen earlier in the day. The suspect, a 26-year-old man of no fixed address, was located by police in an Enfield motel. He was allegedly in possession of a large quantity of stolen property and arrested. A woman in his company was also arrested. He was charged with contravene intervention order, illegal use, serious criminal trespass, theft and unlawful possession. The 25-year-old woman of no fixed address was charged with breaching home detention bail.
