Someone asked the other day whats the highlight of fostering,well Ive had some wonderful days with my two foster dogs - and some sad days but the good have outweighed the bad!! My time with my foster kids is coming to a end soon & I wont lie its going to break my heart to say good bye to them. From only going to be here for 6 - 7 months to being here for over 1 1/2yr,its been a long journey. Ive watched the one dog go from being completely shut down & covered in furmats so bad that his skin was red from all the fur - over 8hrs of cutting away the mats slowly so as not to hurt him - the sweet ole guy never once got mad at me - I know it must have hurt :( So scared to even come near me or to go on the couch - over one month holding him,talking to him,giving him kisses on his little nose. The reward for all that - one kiss back to me,following me every where,jumping around like a puppy,playing with my bigger dog - thats Priceless. Then there is the Trouble Maker - threw my little guy across the living room three times that first day - now,they dont stop playing - 24/7 She doesnt bark as much,has learned what house means - cuddle bug she has become!! Oh did I mention she ran away - twice - dam escape artist!! Through it all Ive cried,laughed,but most importantly - Ive loved these two furkids as if they were mine. Its been a privilege & honor to have played a small part in their lives - I will take some time to reflect on the past 1 1/2yr then I will open up my home yet again to other one needing some hugs & love - I will once again give my whole heart to another fur kid that needs me :)
