Someone posted this article: I found one quotation particularly interesting, since there is so much talk about global warming these days: #9 The “volcanic winter” that a massive Yellowstone eruption would cause would radically cool the planet. Some scientists believe that global temperatures would decline by up to 20 degrees. One could speculate that perhaps the earth was designed to be self-regulating, temperature-wise. I also recall that scientists claimed that lots of crops and cropland would be destroyed after Mt. St. Helens erupted... I think I still have a newspaper clipping with such a prediction in it, in my files in the garage... but in talking to farmers a few years later, they said they got bumper crops the next year, because the soil was replenished by the ash fallout. Now you have insufficient facts, but feel free to play scientist, and add your predictions in the comments :)
