Sooooo disappointed in myself for not learning from last winter. I was very lucky last year that we noticed the dog kennel canvas roof straining under the weight of the snow and not collapsed in. so I swore after that, that after every snow fall we would go out and clear the snow from the roof. Well we have had so little snow that it slipped my mind again but of course I didnt peek at it after returning from Christmas and I believe that it snowed here at that time, then add in all the wind that has been blowing snow off of the house roof over the kennel and then add in the nice weather we had leading up to Christmas that created an ice layer against the canvas and ...... yeah, you got it, the roof was so heavy it bent the roof frame and caved in. Ugh, cant believe how heavy it was, three of us in there trying to loosen it up and then my reasoning kicks in and tells everyone to get out. WHAT THE HELL was I thinking? All of us standing under that weight of snow with our arms and shoulders pushing up on it as it shifts....frozen brain or what?!?!?! Well a ladder and shovel later and we got almost all of it off but now we will be coming up with a replacement roof in the spring....waited 2.5 years to get our hands on this kennel and it didnt survive two winters....not the problem of the kennel, just the owners! Dammit!
