Sooooo...the Reggae/Funk jam was excellent. Not a reggae beat in sight, more of a Jazz/Funk fusion improv thing. In other words, right in my wheelhouse. Not so much funk like the Ohio Players(which was what I was worried about, since I dont know the songs. Apologies to the guys, Peewee). Got to meet Charlie Prides son Carlton, and got lost with him, the bass player I met last night, drums, and a percussion guy for about half an hour. It was fantastic. Did the Bm to A Beautiful Jam chord structure, and stepped out/leaned into it a little bit. The way the two chords fit together is wild, fierce, yearning, and wistful, a remembrance of things that werent and not ever to be. Got to do all my little fake James Brown guitar licks too. Ill be back next week.
