Sorry.. I cant stop harping on my new idolatric musical obsession.. Marianne Trudel !! I think that after the demise of the Esbjorn Svensson Trio, I fell into a kind of despair thinking that good jazz piano is finished.. Yet, here she is.. every bit as good and better and local ( some weeks ago she played to an audience of 12 at our local music watering hole.. La Caravane, with great happiness and enthusiasm ( Thanks Cecille for making it happen !!) Her solos ( 3:57 and 5:11 ) have such a lyrical quality that they act as hot-air currents to the hang-glider of my soul .. try it !!
