Sorry for the sad post. Even in death she did what she always did - bring the family together. All 8 children and my dad, Leonardo Banzon (wheelchair and all) visited her daily during the 3 stays at the hospital lasting over a week each, mostly in the ICU. We would have dinner together at the hospital, joke around, talk about our childhood, keep our mom company every evening and most of the weekends. We would feed her, meet with her doctors and prayed the rosary together on the last night of her life. However, it was at the wake and the funeral that we truly bonded as a family. We all shared the same grief and pain. But we also share the same faith and belief that as she always waited for us to come home to her weekly for our family dinner, our mom will be waiting for us to come home to her in Heaven one day. I promised myself that the Thank You post was the last one I was going to do on my moms passing. But my nephew, Mick Banzon did a really nice edit of the Funeral Service from vids our cousin, Donna De Padua took and the recording Rene Philip Banzon did of the choir during the mass. Sharing the video to honor my mom, Merced Banzon. And to honor our family. I miss you, mommy. And yes, in case youre wondering, thats a can of coke Raoul Banzon placed in the burial site at the end of the video. Coke was what kept our mom vibrant for 87 years!
