I have thoroughly enjoyed this book and will be looking for more from him in the future. Reading this book makes you feel like you are there, living it with him, or sitting and listening to an Uncle telling you stories of his life. He really knows how to make you feel like you are a part of the story. I highly recommend it to all readers. Was this review helpful? I never read books, It was a good read, and I am not a reader. I never read books, but I read this one in two sittings. I recommend reading the chapters in order, but it isnt necessary in all cases. Warren Pope paints great pictures of places and people in New Orleans. The book is born of his experiences working as a police officer in the New Orleans Police Dept. He ran his experience through his vivid imagination and produced a great product. Cops appear as real people, and one can begin to appreciate Warrens personal transformation from civilian to recruit to seasoned senior officer. Was this review helpful?
