Sound Off on Saturday..... Even though somedays you may wish for the sound of silence in your program, the ability to hear and distinguish sound is often taken for granted. Much of nature is beginning to wake from the quiet of winter, so, make the most of the opportunities that are all around you. Ask children to identify sounds that are outside. It might be the rumble of a truck or the song of a feathered friend. You can use indoor noises and the sounds of everyday life as conversation starters and vocabulary builders. Afterall, listening is part of language....and should never be overlooked!
