Sound the Battle Crye! Pat OBriens Bar (purveyor of the Hurricane) came to The Historic New Orleans Collection recently to research a new signature cocktail commemorating the bicentennial of the Battle of New Orleans. The drink, called the Battle Crye, is based on a recipe found in a 19th century newspaper by one of our reference assistants, Matt Farah. We’ve had the privilege of tasting the final result—which features rye whiskey, Chambord, soda water, simple syrup and grenadine—and you can order your Battle Crye beginning this Friday, October 17, at Pat O’Brien’s party launching the cocktail.
