South Carolina rocked it in many systems tonight and this past month/year!! Huge congrats to K Lee Graham the new #missteenusa!!!! Very well deserved.. Knew the crown was in your future!! Also very proud of Catherine Kirkland, the new #MissTeenAmerica, and Erika Cline the new #MissTeenUnitedStates... #SC girls always bring the competition! Mae-Ann Webb, 1RU to Elizabeth Safrit, #MissUnitedStates, SC is the new #MissJrTeenAmerica and apparently the new #MissCollegiateAmerica! And who could ever forget Tori Sizemore, 1RU Miss Teen USA 2013 and Ali Rogers, 1RU Miss America 2013..holy moly has South Carolina made a name for itself nationally. My pageant journey only lasted 4 years. As much of a competitor as I truly am (making it hard to what seemed to me not accomplish my goals), I am beyond honored to have placed 1st Runner Up three out of four years that I competed. (1RU to Ms. United States 2014, 1RU to Miss South Carolina USA 2013 and 1RU to Miss North Carolina USA 2012....Miss Columbia 2011-Swimsuit/Congeniality Winner at Miss SC USA 2011) More than the honor of placing top 5 in most competitions, I gained an extensive local and national support system (which completely humbled me), amazing new friendships and most importantly, and what came after the experiences, a stronger self confidence, sense of self and true happiness in who I am, the things I have accomplished and the future I have before me. It takes a strong woman to be subjectively judged, to walk on stage (mostly alone) and allow 3-5 peoples opinions to be the sole factor in that particular nights outcome. Sometimes you dont learn anything until the experiences have ended and at this point in my life, I am truly thankful for all of it. As I stood once again, in the top two, this time at Ms. United States, and willed that my name not be called.. (once again)..I realized that as much as I wanted it, my path had already been set and Gods plan put into motion. I have had friends/supporters join in this journey of mine think how ironic this is...who said please just not 1RU again. I have shared in the laughs and sentiments, but truly feel that its Gods way of saying, I want you to succeed, but not in this way and therefore, He has let me win without really winning. Thanks to everyone, and I mean E V E R Y O N E for always believing in me and supporting my dreams, big or small, crazy or sane, because what is life without meaningful relationships and from this I have gained so many. When I do things, I go all in and, therefore, sometimes have a hard time with change/letting go, but I can honestly say that I am in one of the best places I have been in a long time and eagerly anticipate the future. I look forward to finishing my year as Ms. South Carolina United States, seeing my brother marry the love of his life in December, counting down the days until I get to see Tyler, and spending as much time with family and friends, my heart and soul, as physically possible. My passion lies with the athletes and coaching staff at River Bluff High School / River Bluff Cheerleading (Koren, Whipple, Kelly, Katrina) and I cannot wait to begin a new journey with them as we take our State Championship program to new heights. I have been unimaginably blessed and I think this year might just be one of the best yet...and besides, who else can say that in three years straight they have been 1st Runner Up at a national level and in two of the most competitive states in the USA System/ RPM Productions, Inc. ;)
