Spent a bit of todays gawgiss afternoon with my sons family and his mom at Maas Nursery in Seabrook. Its a beautiful place to wander around among the merchandise which ranges from ferns to firs, fruit trees to fountains, wind chimes to wheelbarrows. Everything you need to create your very own enchanted forest. (BYOE) I have to keep reminding myself that its still a beautiful, idyllic detour with no admission charged for immersing oneself in an ersatz Eden just long enough to reset ones OS. I have to face and absorb and get over the fact that the kangaroos, peacocks, longhorn steers, capybaras and sundry who dwelt there until a big blowhard named Ike persuaded them to take up residence elsewhere a few years ago. I hope they went peacefully. There is a big small elephant made out of iron. It would have been a good photo op if my grandson Jude the Dude would have sat atop it but, being an elephant made of steel, was running a fever and it would have been unkind to do so.
