Star Wars daily post #247 (for December 7th): Meanwhile, on the other side of the Galaxy, Luke Skywalker was approaching the planet Dagobah. Despite being near the Rimma Trade Route, Dagobah could only be accessed by obscure and little known Hyperlanes. Dagobah was a swamp planet. There were few open bodies of water; most of the water was evenly distributed through the marshlands and swamps. Hundreds of years before the Clone Wars a powerful Dark Jedi was killed by Jedi Master Minch. The Dark Jedis energies were absorbed by the surroundings, and tainted the cave where the battle was fought. During the Clone Wars, Dagobah was one of 38 worlds deleted from the Jedi Archives. Master Yoda travelled to Dagobah to find out why the planet had been secreted. There he found the tainted cave, and an overwhelming presence of the Living Force. Dagobah is one of the purest sources of the Force found in the entire Galaxy, so Yoda decided to leave it deleted so that it would not fall into the wrong hands. At the conclusion of the Clone Wars, Yoda exiled himself to Dagobah, and set up his dwelling right beside the Dark Force cave so that it would diminish his Light Side presence, making Yoda almost undetectable to other Force-Sensitive beings.
