Status Update: Northern Ranger: I have recieved an update on the Northern Ranger from officials with WST and NMI The underlying problem with the Northern Ranger is that the rebuilt cylinder heads for the engines where manufactured incorrectly....one engine has been repaired, and the other should be operational soon...In the meantime the vessel has a backup generator to drive the engine that has been repaired....The vessel is still underway and keeping fairly close to her schedule.....Transport Canada is continually monitoring the Vessel for safety and thus far have given permission for her to sail...(Many vessels have one engine)...Hopefully the Ranger will be operating on both engines very quickly, after the cylinder heads have been properly repaired.
