Step 1 for me is increase engagement. I appreciate everyone who writes to me and supports me, but I have currently 65k subscribers on Youtube, but I get maybe 3-5k views a day on average, I have 3700 facebook followers, and 2k twitter followers, and no posts on either of those gets more than 100 likes or comments. So there are clearly thousands of people who I have failed to engage. There are people with half the subscribers I have, but five times the engagement. I once asked Hank Green, a person who inspires me a lot, for advice, and he gracefully responded and told me (among other things) that I should make more videos. He suggested 3 a week if possible. 3 videos a week seems hellacious to me, but its not like Im doing anything else with my time, so maybe I should look into it. I also have other limitations, such as a roommate who probably doesnt want to hear me yelling at a camera when shes trying to relax before work, but thats probably just an excuse.
