Still hoping there will be a Christian movie that doesnt make me feel embarrassed for, or by the people who made them. Ive never been able to distill the reasons why they are so awful so often, but they are,IMO. Maybe the audience is too forgiving? Ive been to Church and have often been witness to applause and accolades for what I perceived as blasphemy that they should be ashamed to have heard coming from the pulpit, yet the congregation seemed very glad to have heard it. It makes me feel like Im living in Stepford, Connecticut and maybe theres a mickey in the communion or something. It happens often enough that I have basically written off Church. What I usually learn in Church is that I dont belong there, and I was hoping for more. I still have hope, but I aint holdin my breath. The text (The Bible) these presentations (sermons, films, denominations) are are drawn from are so rich I wonder why they are so bad so often. I love the Bible, find it wondrously interesting, yet, at Church, I either cant stay awake, cant wait to leave, or cant believe the preacher just said that and everybody agreed with it. Christian movies effect me the same way, but at least I dont have to politely pretend to be interested, stay awake, or stay seated until they are over.
