Still recovering from my Bridget Jones day - TopicsExpress

Still recovering from my Bridget Jones day yesterday....... Dropped boys at school early and decided to deliver letter to a beautiful house in advance of valuation next week. Arrived at said house - stunning! - but located down rural lane. Fine.... posted letter and continued down lane thinking - no problem will be able to turn round soon!....... Lane starts to narrow and becomes VERY narrow,, possible turning spaces dwindle.... Fast!!! Suddenly realise there is a quick running stream with steep bank next to me and road has turned to mud!! PANIC!! Make a call for help as cannot reverse or turn! I am told by the rescuers to leave vehicle and walk back up lane. On the way up the lane I encounter a gentleman walking a dog at which point I panic and think it best to pretend I am out for a morning stroll....! My obvious flushed face alerts the man that I am not a hiker and am actually a likely damsel in distress. Gent asks me if I am ok and I reply no actually - my car is stuck - he then says ok fine I can try and move your car but you will have to look after my dog - Relief washes over me and I take the dogs lead and walk up the lane...... the rescuers (who I had called) arrive and encounter me on a corner of the lane, at which point I am asked what on earth I am doing walking a dog?!!! they had thought I was stuck in a car in distress! At the sight of me out for a dog walk they turn their vehicle and leave - me with dog & lead in hand....! Finally the dogs owner returns in my car which he has freed from the mud/river!!! I return dog and thank man profusely and get into my now mud splattered car breathing a sigh of relief. I indicate onto the main road and find myself behind a tractor full of huge hay bales - feeling relieved, and glad to be back on an A road I settle into my seat only to then encounter a massive hay bale falling from the tractor straight in front of me!! I execute an emergency stop exit car and ask the driver of the tractor if I can be of assistance!! He turns to me, gives me a withering glance and says no I doubt it!!!.... Wow what a morning and all before 10am!!!!! :)
