Stinking River Valley politician, Fuller Hautair was in rare form - TopicsExpress

Stinking River Valley politician, Fuller Hautair was in rare form last night when he gave a little talk to the local political club. Fuller is always campaigning. For some reason, last night he was on a roll. Theres been talk of competition for Fuller and it has him in full re-election mode. Fuller is promising new school buildings, better teacher pay, better teachers, a better road system, (he even promised to take care of the unpaved end of the Rue de la Midway.), and lower taxes. This got the political club in a frenzy. When Will Fish asked Fuller how he was gonna do all this and cut taxes, Fuller said he was gonna cut out wasteful spending. Buzz Clipper pointed out to Fuller that hed been talking about cutting wasteful spending for years and nothing had changed except a few fee hikes. Fuller told Buzz and the others that this time was different, that hed found a lot of waste that could be cut. Buzz tried to get Fuller to say what the waste was. Fuller told the club he didnt have the time to discuss specifics, but in general there was a lot of waste. In the end, Fuller Hautair got a lot of applause and words of encouragement. The club members left feeling excited about their new schools and roads, but most of all they were excited about the coming tax cuts. Todays assignment from the Stinking River School of Theology and Stuff is sponsored by The Stinking River Sentinel...a newspaper of distinction, now in danger of extinction. Now todays assignment. It is Esther 5:1-8 that were reading today. How does Esther get the kings attention? Why do you think the king is willing to grant her any request? What is her request? Is God at work here, or is this just how the story plays out? Go...read the Bible...let it speak...dont fear the questions, fear no growing....open your heart and your mind to the endless possibilities of the Holy Spirit.
